BAROLO 2003ROCCHE: In 2006 the bunches of Nebbiolo used to make Barolo ripened earlier than usual, so the harvest started on 16th of September (one month earlier than in 2004). All the grapes - whether grown on slopes facing SOUTH-EAST or SOUTH - SOUTH-WEST – had an exceptionally high sugar content, and consequently a high degree of alcohol. The wine smells and tastes of cherries and roses. The tannins are excellent and powerful; total acidity is lower than usual.
BAROLO 2002 ROCCHE: It’s a difficult vintage due to a hailstorm on September 3rd, with the production reduced of 50%. The wine has a fruity bouquet of violets and raspberries, and is showing good body with soft tannins. Ready to drink after just a few months in the bottle, this vintage will have a medium cellar life (5-8 years).
BAROLO 2000 ROCCHE: In 2000 Nebbiolo for Barolo grapes arrived to the vintage bearing rich fruit with high concentration of sugar, balanced acidity and excellent phenolic content. All these elements are taken as a good omen regarding the quality of the new millennium vintages.
BAROLO 1999 ROCCHE: This outstanding vintage of Barolo Rocche has a bright ruby-red colour. It has a very intense nose of ripe cherries, with overtones of underbrush. Mouth-filling, very powerful and engaging, compact fruit, fine tannins, long finish.
BAROLO RISERVA ROCCHE 1999: In this outstanding vintage a lot of 3.300 litres of Barolo ROCCHE, have been aged in wood for 3 years and bottled in February 2006. A medium red, fruity wine, with hints of raspberry jam, good length and powerful tannins: definitely “to be forgotten” for a long time!
